1. Who we are

Buffalo Auto Mobile Steamer ("we", "us", "our") provides mobile steam cleaning services across Essex and East London. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2. What we collect

When you complete an enquiry form on this website, we collect:

• ✓Your name
• ✓Your mobile telephone number
• ✓Your email address
• ✓Your postcode, and the job address if you give it to us
• ✓Details of the work you are asking us to quote for
• ✓Your preferred date and time, and how you heard about us, if you tell us

If you contact us by telephone, WhatsApp or email instead, we collect whatever information you choose to give us in that message. We also collect limited technical information automatically — see section 7.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we do not collect special category data such as health information.

3. Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:

• ✓Consent — you tick the box on the enquiry form asking us to contact you. You can withdraw this at any time.
• ✓Performance of a contract — once you book, we need your details to carry out the work, arrange access and take payment.
• ✓Legal obligation — we keep records of transactions for tax and accounting purposes.
• ✓Legitimate interests — following up on an enquiry you made, keeping records of work carried out, and defending ourselves in a dispute.

4. How we use your information

We use it to reply to your enquiry, prepare and send a quote, arrange and carry out the work, take payment, send a booking confirmation and a reminder, and ask afterwards whether you were happy with the job.

If you do not respond to a quote we may follow up by email or WhatsApp a small number of times. You can tell us to stop at any point and we will.

We never sell your information, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing.

5. Who we share it with

We use a small number of established service providers to run the business. They only process your information on our instructions:

• ✓Google — email and spreadsheet records of enquiries and jobs
• ✓n8n — the automation service that routes your enquiry to us and sends your confirmation
• ✓Stripe — card payments. Stripe handles your card details directly; we never see or store them.
• ✓Twilio — WhatsApp and SMS messages, where you have asked us to contact you that way

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.

6. How long we keep it

If you enquire but do not book, we keep your enquiry for 12 months and then delete it.

If you become a customer, we keep your records for 6 years after the last job — the period HMRC requires for tax records.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See section 8.

7. Cookies and analytics

This website does not use advertising cookies, and we do not share anything with advertising networks.

We do keep our own basic analytics so we can see how the website is being used and fix what is not working. A small anonymous identifier is stored in your browser's local storage, and alongside it we record:

• ✓Which pages you visit, and when
• ✓Which buttons and links you tap, including call and WhatsApp buttons
• ✓How far down a page you scroll, and roughly how long you spend on it
• ✓Whether you started or submitted a form
• ✓Your device type, screen size, browser language and timezone
• ✓The page or search that sent you here

This identifier is anonymous. It is a random string, not your name, and it is never linked to your name, email or telephone number unless you choose to submit a form. Your browser timezone and language tell us roughly which part of the world you are in — they are not your address and not a precise location.

You can clear all of it at any time by clearing your browser's site data, and the website works exactly the same without it.

Some pages embed a Google Map. Google may set its own cookies when that map loads, and its use of your data is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ✓Ask what personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy
• ✓Have inaccurate information corrected
• ✓Ask us to delete your information, where we have no ongoing legal reason to keep it
• ✓Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
• ✓Withdraw your consent at any time
• ✓Ask for your information in a portable format

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including access-controlled accounts and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, but we take the responsibility seriously and only work with established providers who do the same.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office:
