Home/FAQs
Before you bookWe would far rather answer these now than have you wondering. If yours is not here, ring 07508 200918 — you will get a straight answer, not a sales pitch.
Fill in the enquiry form on the contact page, or give us a ring. Tell us what needs cleaning, roughly what condition it is in and where you are, and we will come back with a straight price. It is free, and there is no obligation to book.
Usually within the hour during working hours. If you enquire late in the evening you will hear from us first thing the next morning. You also get an immediate email confirming we have received your enquiry, so you are never left wondering whether the form worked.
Our car valet packages are priced by vehicle size, and we will give you that figure straight away. But a three-piece suite that has had two dogs on it for six years is a very different job from one with a single spillage — quoting both the same would mean overcharging one of them. For that work we ask a couple of questions and give you an accurate price instead of a misleading one.
For fixed-price valet packages you can pay securely online in advance. For quoted work — carpets, upholstery, home deep cleans and commercial jobs — we send a secure payment link once you have accepted the quote. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
No. The price we quote is the price you pay, and travel within our normal working area is included.
No. Our van is fully self-sufficient and carries its own water and power. All we need is somewhere to park reasonably close to the vehicle or property. This is one of the main advantages of steam — the whole job uses only a few litres of water.
Let us know when you book and we will work something out. We need to be within a reasonable distance of the vehicle or front door so our hoses reach. If parking is genuinely difficult where you are, tell us in advance rather than on the day — it saves everybody a wasted trip.
Not necessarily. For a car valet, as long as we can access the vehicle and you are happy for us to get on with it, you can go about your day. For work inside a property we do need someone to let us in and lock up afterwards.
Light rain is not usually a problem, and interior work is entirely unaffected. In heavy or persistent rain we may suggest moving an exterior valet to another day, because the finish will not do the work justice. We will always ring you rather than simply turning up or not turning up.
The more the better, particularly for weekends, which book up first. That said, we can often fit in short-notice work — especially home deep cleans, where the deadline is rarely flexible. Ring and ask.
Please remove personal belongings and valuables from the vehicle, and clear the area to be cleaned where you can. It lets us get straight to work instead of spending your time moving things around.
Yes, and considerably safer than the alternative. Swirl marks are caused by brushes and wash mitts dragging grit across the surface. We use neither. Steam lifts dirt away from the paint rather than dragging it across the surface.
Yes. Steam is used professionally on all of them. Temperature and pressure are controlled to suit the surface — leather is treated far more gently than an alloy wheel or an engine bay. That is what the training and the equipment are for.
This is one of the main reasons people choose it. Steam sanitises using heat rather than chemicals, so there is no residue left on a car seat, a sofa or a mattress. Nothing is left behind for a child to touch or a pet to lie on.
Usually minutes rather than days. Traditional shampooing soaks the fibres and can leave a carpet damp overnight. Steam uses a fraction of the water, so carpets, seats and sofas are normally ready to use almost immediately.
In most cases, yes. Steam breaks odours and stains down at the fibre instead of covering them with fragrance, which is why the smell does not return a fortnight later. We will be honest about the exceptions: some very old, set-in or dye-based stains may lighten significantly rather than vanish. If we think that is likely, we tell you before we start, not after you have paid.
Considerably less. A jet wash can get through hundreds of litres on a single car. A steam valet uses a few. Better for your driveway, better during a hosepipe ban, and better for the drains it all eventually runs into.
A standard interior and exterior steam valet is usually two to three hours, depending on the size of the vehicle and the state it is in. A car that has carried children and a dog for three years takes longer than one that has not. We give a realistic estimate when we quote — we would rather tell you the truth than promise forty minutes and rush it.
Yes, and it is one of the most worthwhile things you can do. A properly cleaned interior makes a real difference to what a buyer will offer, and to what a leasing company decides to charge for wear and tear. Tell us it is a pre-sale or end-of-lease clean and we will focus on the areas that get scrutinised.
Yes. Steam sanitises a mattress with heat, killing dust mites and bacteria without soaking it in chemicals you would then sleep on. It is one of our most popular jobs with allergy and asthma sufferers, and mattresses dry quickly enough that the bed is usable the same night.
We cannot promise what a letting agent will decide — that is their call, not ours. What we can do is clean to inspection standard and provide photographs on request, so if there is a dispute you have evidence rather than an argument. Carpets and upholstery are where most deposits are lost, and they are exactly what we are best at.
Yes. We work with offices, gyms, restaurants, care homes and vehicle fleets on rolling contracts. Because steam leaves no chemical smell and dries almost immediately, we can usually work around your opening hours rather than forcing you to close. Ask for a free site survey.
We are based in Aveley and cover Thurrock, Grays, Purfleet, South Ockendon, Tilbury, Chafford Hundred, Stanford-le-Hope, Corringham, Basildon and Brentwood across Essex, plus Upminster, Hornchurch, Romford, Rainham, Dagenham and Barking in East London. If your postcode is not listed, ask anyway. We carry full public liability insurance and are happy to provide the details on request.
You will speak to the person who does the work — and if we are not right for your job, we will tell you that too.
